Under general direction, develops implements and monitors safety initiatives that drive year over year improvements. Needs to be capable of assimilating with various teams quickly, building trust and driving excellence.
Involved in the design, development and execution of programs (such as the “AIM to be Safe” program), business plans for safety, safety procedures, score-carding and auditing processes. Develops methods to drive continuous improvement of safety practices across the business. Provides guidance and training the business teams as needed.
Regular travel to Residential factories, distribution, corporate office locations or stores will be required and will vary as project and business needs dictate. Will be working directly with site manufacturing safety and leadership teams. Utilize a continuous improvement approach focused on the prevention of injury risk in order to drive risk out of operations and other locations.
This position will be viewed as a career progression step for safety engineers.
Regional mobility is preferred.
Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires at least 5 years related experience (preferably in manufacturing, distribution, and/or retail).
CSP or equivalent certification preferred.
Full knowledge of health, safety, environmental and workers compensation best practices.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills that result in effective communications.
Strong presentation skills to senior executives.
Knowledge of developing and implementing training programs.
Must have proven success in driving continuous improvement in HSE.
Lean and Six Sigma preferred.
Experience using Apollo Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), or similar robust problem solving tools preferred.
